Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a tiny, sleepy town. A lot of people who aren't aware of about the place mistakenly think that it is the West Island extends westward from Montreal. Actually, it is the West Island includes everything westward from the city of Lachine. Amanda Brugel's hometown is often referenced, however her brief time in the city wasn't. Brugel became an aspiring young lady within Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. She had a dream to be a dancer but an increase in her height resulted in her outgrowing the dancers she was with. Former dancers often turn to acting and in the instance of Brugel, it was the result of a recommendation from her high school teacher in drama. She was awarded an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to go to York University's Theatre Program and graduated at the age of 20 with a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. In the last 20 years, her roles on television and the big screen have been varied. Her role as Rita from the award winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most notable. Brugel is the sole Canadian of the Season 1 actors of the series and only seen occasionally was the only Canadian.
